Dear Hiring Manager,
I am applying for the L1 SOC Analyst role at ShieldOps, posted on Naukri. I completed my BTech in Computer Science this year, passed CompTIA Security+, and spent four months as a SOC intern at a managed security provider in Noida.
During the internship I triaged more than 900 Splunk alerts. Most were noise, so the skill I worked hardest on was deciding quickly which ones were real and writing the evidence clearly when I escalated. I escalated 34 true positives, including a set of successful logins from two countries within an hour that turned out to be a compromised account. I also updated twenty playbook steps and built a phishing-triage checklist that the L1 team now uses.
Outside work I run a home lab with Wazuh, Sysmon and a vulnerable VM, and I am in the top 3% on TryHackMe for the SOC and Blue Team paths.
I am ready for 24x7 shifts and can join immediately. I would welcome a technical round.
Sincerely,
Marcus Feldstein

Dear Hiring Manager,
I would like to apply for the Incident Response Lead position at SecureBank Technologies. I have five years in SOC and incident response for banking clients, currently as an L3 analyst at a managed security provider in Bengaluru.
When I moved to L3, our mean time to respond was about four hours because every containment step needed manual approval and several tools. I built Sentinel playbooks for the most common scenarios, such as isolating a device, disabling an account and blocking a hash, with approvals in Teams. Mean time to respond dropped to about 50 minutes. I have led eighteen investigations, including two ransomware attempts we contained within the hour, and I tuned detections to cut false positives by 60%, which gave our L1 analysts time to hunt.
I hold CEH and Microsoft SC-200 and mentor five L1 analysts.
SecureBank's plan to build an in-house IR team is exactly the work I want to lead. My notice period is 60 days.
Sincerely,
Kenji Talbot

- I cut mean time to respond from four hours to 50 minutes with automated playbooks, and I am applying for your Incident Response Lead position.
- As a Security+ certified graduate who triaged 900+ alerts in a SOC internship, I would like to apply for your L1 SOC Analyst role.
What to write in the body
One or two paragraphs that prove you can do the job the advert describes. For a cyber security analyst, the body should also:
