Which template should I choose?
Start with where you are. Looking for your first job? The Fresher designs put your education first. Otherwise, Simple is plain black text and thin lines, Modern adds colour, and Two column adds a side column for contact and skills. Every Simple and Modern design is one column, which is what hiring software reads most reliably, so for an online application form start there. When in doubt, Standard is never the wrong choice.
What do the switches at the top do?
They restyle every template on the page at once — colour, typeface, a profile-photo slot, the lines under section titles, and whether section bodies are indented. Set them the way you like here and the builder opens with the same choices; you can change any of them again in the editor, and the PDF you download matches exactly.
Where can I get resume templates free to download?
Every template here is free to open, fill in and preview, with no card. You pay only when you download the file. If you want resume templates free to download with no payment at all, a blank document in any word processor works, but you build it by hand and nothing checks how a screening program reads it.
What is a professional resume template, and what is a modern resume template?
A professional resume template is one that is plain and easy to read: one or two columns, standard section names and a readable typeface. A modern resume template adds colour and accents but keeps one column; a side column belongs to the Two column group. Both keep the same text order, so a parser still reads them. Pick by the job you want and the country you apply in.
Can I switch templates after writing my resume?
Yes, any time, in one click. Your content is stored separately from the layout, so switching from Standard to Dark Sidebar — or trying every one of them — never loses a word.
Will hiring software (an ATS) read the two-column and photo templates?
Every template exports real, selectable text with standard section headings, your name and contact details first, and each column as a whole block — never text baked into images, and never two columns woven together line by line, which is what scrambles most designed resumes. Even so, hiring software differs, and one column is what it reads most reliably. For an online application form, choose a one-column layout; keep two-column layouts for email and print. A photo is skipped by software and seen by people: use one where it is the norm, leave it out for the US and UK.
Should I put a photo on my resume in India?
It depends on the sector. Hospitality, sales, aviation, media and many client-facing roles expect one; most IT, finance and government applications don't. Flip the Profile pic switch to see how any template looks with one.
Can't decide? Try them all with your own resume.
