Solution Architect Resume Examples & Format
A solution architect designs how a business problem will be solved with technology, end to end: the application components, integrations, data flows, cloud services, security, scaling and cost, and the trade-offs between options. A solution architect resume should prove skills such as solution design and trade-off analysis, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and microservices and event-driven architecture with numbers from your own work. Below are three samples, early-career to senior, with summaries, bullets and skills.

What does a solution architect do?
They turn requirements into architecture diagrams and decision records, size the effort, guide delivery teams and explain the design to business leaders. Solution architects work in software companies, consultancies, banks, telecoms and retailers, and the page should show the systems you designed, their scale and the outcomes.
Best resume format for a solution architect
- Lead with systems designed, their scale and outcomes, not a list of tools.
- Name the cloud and domain in the headline.

FAQ
Solution Architect resume questions, answered.
Still unsure? Send us a message — a real person replies.
How do I move from developer to solution architect on my resume?
Show designs you led, decision records you wrote, reviews you ran for other teams and a cloud architect certificate. Put scale numbers beside each design, such as response time, availability or cost saved, so the move reads as architecture work and not just seniority.
Should an AWS or Azure architect resume differ?
Name the platform in the headline and services in skills, but keep the focus on the solutions and results. A reader should see the problem, the design choice and the outcome for each system, whichever cloud it ran on.
What is the difference between a solution architect and an enterprise architect?
A solution architect designs specific systems, while an enterprise architect sets standards and roadmaps across the organization. Show which scope you owned and give one example of a decision with its trade-offs and the result.
