Dear Hiring Manager,
I am applying for the Mathematics Tutor (Classes 6 to 10) position at Pink City Learning Centre, which I saw on your notice at Malviya Nagar. I completed my B.Sc. in Mathematics at the University of Rajasthan this year with 76%, after scoring 88% in Class XII (CBSE).
For two years I have taught six students of Classes 8 and 9 in small groups at home. Five of the six improved their maths marks by more than 15 points in a year. Most of them were not weak at maths; they were afraid of it, so I started each session with a question they could certainly answer and built up from there. I set a short test every fortnight and told parents the result, good or bad.
I follow the CBSE and NCERT syllabus closely, and I can teach on Google Meet with a digital whiteboard.
I can start from next week, in the evenings and on weekends, and I would be happy to take a demo class.
Yours sincerely,
Emily Pendleton

Dear Hiring Manager,
I would like to apply for the Senior Physics Faculty (JEE) role at Vidya Academy, Thrissur. For four years I have taught physics and mathematics to Class 11 and 12 students, and at Edge Learning Centre in Kochi I teach three batches of about 25 students, 14 hours a week.
In the last two batches, 12 of my 18 JEE Main students scored above the 90th percentile. I have written 40 chapter tests with full solutions and run weekly doubt sessions, and I track each student's weak chapters in a sheet so revision in the last two months is targeted, not general.
I also teach board-level physics for Class 12 and keep parents informed with a short monthly progress note.
Your centre is building a JEE Advanced batch, which I would like to help lead. My notice period is one month, after the current batch's exam, and I am happy to teach a demo class.
Yours sincerely,
Marcus Oyelaran

Tutor cover letter introduction
Name the job, where you saw it and your strongest fact in the first two lines. Two openings that work:
- Twelve of my 18 JEE Main students in the last two batches scored above the 90th percentile; I am applying for your Senior Physics Faculty role.
- As a mathematics graduate whose home tuition students improved by 15+ marks in a year, I would like to apply for your Mathematics Tutor position.
What to write in the body
One or two paragraphs that prove you can do the job the advert describes. For a tutor, the body should also:
- Show student results: marks improved, percentiles, pass rates.
- Mention your method: tests, doubt sessions, progress notes to parents.
How to close a tutor cover letter
Close with your available hours and days, your joining date, and an offer to take a demo class. For online tutoring, mention your setup: laptop, tablet and whiteboard tools.

How do I write a tutor cover letter with no experience?

What should an experienced tutor include?
Subjects, classes and exams, student results, tests and doubt sessions, and parent communication.
How do I write an online tutor cover letter?
Add your online teaching tools, internet and device setup, and time-zone availability for international students.
Is a tutor cover letter different from a teacher cover letter?
