What goes in a video editor job description for a resume?
Write duties as results: videos edited a month, formats and platforms, software used, turnaround time and any views or watch time. Premiere Pro, After Effects, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut are the usual tools; add Avid if you worked in television.
Do I need a showreel when applying as a video editor?
Yes. Hiring teams judge the showreel first, so link it near the top and keep it short and strong, with your best work in the first 15 seconds. Label each clip with your role so they know what you cut, graded or mixed.
How do I show results as a video editor?
Give views, watch time, the number of videos a month, turnaround, clients served and festival or award recognition. One number per project is enough; a lighter bullet with a result beats a long list of software names.
