Investment Banking CV Template & Examples for Investment Bankers

An investment banker helps companies raise money and buy or sell businesses, and an investment banking CV template should show how: building financial models and valuations, writing pitch books, information memoranda and teasers, running due diligence, managing data rooms and working with investors, lawyers and auditors to close deals. An investment banker CV should prove skills such as financial modelling (3-statement, LBO), valuation (DCF, comparables, precedents), and pitch books and information memoranda with numbers from your own work. Below are three samples, graduate to senior, with summaries, bullets and skills.

FAQ

Investment Banker CV questions, answered.

Still unsure? Send us a message — a real person replies.

How do I write an investment banking CV with no deal experience?

Lead with education and scores, internships with deals and models, CFA progress, case competitions and modelling skills. Keep it to one page, and describe each internship with the deal type, the size and the part you built, such as the operating model or ten slides of the pitch.

How long should an investment banking CV be?

One page for analysts and associates, and up to two pages for senior bankers with a deal list. Put the strongest deals and your role in them on the first page, and cut older work to a single line each.

Can I list deals I worked on?

List public deals by name. Describe private ones by sector, size and type without identifying the client, and never include confidential figures. Say what you did on each deal, such as the model, the pitch book or the due diligence workstream.
